Viñales Shines with Strong Performance at Spanish MotoGP, Red Bull KTM Dominates the Top Nine

The 2025 MotoGP Spanish Grand Prix at the iconic Circuito de Jerez-Angel Nieto saw Maverick Viñales once again demonstrate his podium potential. With a remarkable 4th-place finish, just 3.5 seconds off the leader, Viñales led the charge for Red Bull KTM Tech3, securing a strong showing in the first European race of the season. All four KTM RC16 bikes made it to the top nine, with Viñales, Brad Binder, Pedro Acosta, and Enea Bastianini all finishing within striking distance of the podium.

Viñales made an impressive start from the second row, setting a rapid pace throughout the 25-lap race. Despite pushing hard, he couldn't quite close the gap to the top three but maintained a solid 4th place finish. Meanwhile, Brad Binder put on a strong performance, recovering from 13th on the grid to finish 6th, while teammate Pedro Acosta came home in 7th after a challenging start. Enea Bastianini also put in a solid effort, working his way up to 9th by the end of the race.

In the Moto3™ race, KTM's Jose Antonio Rueda claimed victory, continuing his dominant form and moving back into first place in the championship standings.

Key Highlights:

  • Maverick Viñales: After a solid performance, Viñales expressed satisfaction with his 4th place finish, a strong start to the European leg of the season. "It was a good weekend, and we’re building up well," he said.

  • Brad Binder: "We made a big improvement with the bike, and I was able to manage the race better. I still need more speed, but I’m happy with the progress."

  • Pedro Acosta: Acosta, who started further back, praised his race recovery, "We were among the fastest at the end, and it felt good to finish strong."

  • Enea Bastianini: "I’m happy with my performance. We made improvements, especially in the slower corners," said Bastianini, who finished 9th.

With the first IRTA mid-season test on Monday at Jerez, the teams will have more time to refine their setups ahead of the upcoming races. The next challenge will be the historic Le Mans circuit in two weeks.
